Many hours after it was said that Uchechukwu Faith Nwaokoro's co-wife set her on fire in imo state, BBC News Pidgin gave her husband, Mr. Emmanuel Nwaokoro, an interview in which he told every detail of what happened and how his wife died suddenly.

Mr. Emmanuel Nwaokoro said, "As I tried to put out the fire in our living room, my wife yelled from the next room. She said that the other wife put something on her. I wasn't sure if I should go after the co-wife or try to save my wife. In the end, I chose to try to save my wife first. Later, my neighbors told me that the co-wife jumped off the first floor and got away after setting my wife on fire."

When asked why the co-wife lives with his dead wife, the husband said, "My wife and my brother's wife used to live together, but my brother later got a divorce from his wife. She (the co-wife) came to pack her things that day, but it was too late, so she stayed the night. She set our house on fire in the middle of the night."

Nwanneka Ifurunna, the sister of the person who died, said that the family still doesn't know why Uchechukwu was attacked in such a way. She said that the dead person was never a problem when they were alive.

As it stands, Uchechukwu Faith Nwaokoro's husband and other family members are looking for justice. They want the person who did this to be caught and punished to the fullest extent of the law.
