A family who has lost a loved one is upset with a private mortuary in Tinkong, Akuapem North Municipality, Eastern region, because a body is missing.

Dora Boateng was 67 years old. On Friday, December 2, 2022, when her family went to the morgue to bury her body, they couldn't find it.

The facility's managers said the body might have been mistakenly switched with another by one of the dozens of grieving families who had already come for their body. They are now trying to find out where the body is.

But the family of the person who died told the Akropong district Police command about what happened.

At the same time, the accident messed up the funeral ceremony at the Koforidua Ada kyeremanteng school park, where the body was being prepared for burial.

Family members of the person who died and a few sympathizers are stuck at the funeral site.

Food and drinks almost went to waste because people who heard about what happened but didn't go to the funeral.

A member of the family who didn't want to be named told Bryt FM that if the body isn't found, the family will sue the funeral home.

"Family elders are still trying to find out where the body is.

We've heard that they're at Akropong Akuapem right now, hoping to see the body.

This is definitely not right.

Since the family kept going to the funeral home to check on the body, the funeral home is the only one to blame.

They were there just last week, so why is the body gone? For the family, even if the body was just buried, we will dig it up and put it back here. We will know what to do unless the body has been buried for more than a week and is starting to break down.

He went on to say, "If the body isn't found, the family won't be afraid to sue the funeral home." He said.
