In the Asakore Mampong District Magistrate court, there was a lot of commotion as the family of the late Victoria Dapaah demanded justice for her alleged murder by police inspector Ahmed Twumasi in Adum, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
The family expressed their desire for the suspect to receive the death penalty, as nothing else will satisfy them according to a report by OTEC NEWS.
Victoria Dapaah, who was known as Maa Adwoa, was shot five times at close range by the suspect, resulting in her death. The incident occurred over a GH¢5000 debt owed by the deceased. The suspect was apprehended and brought before the Asokore Mampong District Court on April 25, 2023, where he made a confession.
However, this confession was met with an outburst from the victim's family members who were present in the court. They expressed their wish for the suspect to suffer the same fate as their daughter, as they believed this would serve as a warning to others. The court remanded the suspect in police custody for a month and scheduled his next appearance on May 30, 2023.
