Last Saturday, Abena Osei-Asare, the Deputy Finance Minister and Member of Parliament for Atiwa East in the Eastern Region, surprised her colleagues by joining a Health Walk for New Patriotic Party(NPP) flagbearer aspirant, John Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten according to a report by MyNewsGH.

During the walk, Abena Osei-Asare looked sporty and was seen smiling heartily as they walked through the streets of Accra to raise support for the aspirant in the exercise called "Aduru Wo So Health Walk."

This event was the second in its series, with a similar one held in Kumasi. However, the involvement of some key members of the NPP, including the Member of Parliament for Anya Sowutoum and a member of Alan for President 2024 campaign team Dr. Adomako Kissi, MP for Ngleshi Amanfrom Sylvester Tetteh, MP for Tema West Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, and Former Communications Director of the NPP Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, were the major highlights.

Despite the participation of these NPP members, many were surprised by the emergence of Abena Osei-Asare, given that her colleague and Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu Constituency, Dr. John Kuma, had rooted for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Dr. Kuma believes that Dr. Bawumia is the best choice for the NPP in 2024 because he is competent and loved by the party's base. According to Dr. Kuma, "Dr Bawumia is a voice of hope for this country especially in these difficult times." He further added, "You need individuals who understand how to reform the current system and add value to what President Akufo-Addo has started. The 'Ghana beyond Aid' which must result in 'Africa beyond Aid' requires a new level of thinking, innovation and digitalization. We believe in the vision of Dr. Bawumia and what he represents for this country because it's possible."

Dr. Kuma emphasized the importance of having someone who believes that something new can be done to achieve better results, and believes that Dr. Bawumia represents that hope. He stated that "Dr Bawumia is the hope of this country. He's the hope of the youth and the hope of 'Africa beyond aid.' He's the hope of Ghana, and it's possible."
