On Sunday, December 25, 2022, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia gave GH50,000 to the Glorious Word Power Ministries International. People on social media have said that the vice president might have had other reasons for doing this.
Some people on social media have said that Bawumia went to the church and then gave the money to try to get Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah, who started the church and is now its leader, to change his mind.
Critics say that the money was given to the man of God to get him to say nice things about Dr. Bawumia on 31st Night.
Sammi Awuku, who is the head of the National Lottery Authority, has, however, said what the cash presentation is for.
Sammi Awuku, who gave the money on behalf of the Vice President, talked about why she did it.
"Bawumia, our father, knows that today is Christmas Day. So, he will give his seed money to this church. Vice President has given GH50,000 to the church as a gift. That much is the value of his love, Christmas, and seed offering.
"The Vice President also knows that some conversations can't be held in public, so he would like to have a short meeting with the pastor after the service. He also has a gift for church pastors," he said.
Hopeson Adorye, a member of the NPP, is one of the people who have said that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's action was meant to get the attention of Reverend Owusu Bempah.
Hopeson hinted in a Facebook message that the vice president gave the speech to get Reverend Owusu Bempah to say good things about him.
Hopeson Adorye posted the picture with the caption, "No one can pay a true man of God to prophesy in his favor. The winner prophet."
