Did Catherine Afeku abandon Alan?

In a warm and encouraging address to the party supporters, Catherine Afeku, a prominent member of Alan’s Campaign Team and a parliamentary aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Evalue Ajomoro Gwira Constituency, expressed her heartfelt appeal. As the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary primaries approach, she urged the delegates to exercise their right to vote 'skirt and blouse,' an approach that allows them to vote for candidates from different parties for the presidential and parliamentary positions.

Emphasizing the importance of local representation, Madam Afeku highlighted the critical role of an MP in addressing the day-to-day concerns of the constituency. She asked a thought-provoking question, "When you come to the constituency, does the president come here?" Clearly, she wanted to emphasize that the MP plays a crucial role in being there for the constituents during times of need, even though the presidential aspirants may not always be present at the grassroots level.

Madam Afeku's commitment to her constituents was evident as she explained that she would be the one taking care of them when they are sick, not the presidential aspirant or the president. She reassured the gathering that when she wins, she will diligently represent their interests in Parliament, while the presidential aspirant takes on the responsibilities at Jubilee House.

With genuine passion, she urged the constituents to vote for her as their MP while exercising their freedom to support any presidential aspirant they believe would best lead the party. Madam Afeku stressed that the choice of the presidential candidate is separate from the constituency election and urged the attendees not to let anyone intimidate them into thinking otherwise.

In conclusion, Catherine Afeku's message was filled with an earnest desire to serve her constituents and ensure they have a strong and effective representation in Parliament. Her call for voting 'skirt and blouse' reflects her trust in the voters' judgment and their right to choose the best leaders for both the parliamentary and presidential positions. By encouraging delegates to make independent decisions, she demonstrated a deep respect for democracy and the power of individual choice within the party.
