Efya, the popular singer and songwriter, has shared her love for the color black, stating that she is attracted to it because she is a "witch," according to a report from MyJoyOnline.
She stated: "I feel like it goes with any other colour. I think black is something that fits most of the time. I also like it because I'm a witch," the neo-soul singer told Doreen Avio on Joy Prime.
However, she explained that this is due to the nature of her work, which involves recording music at night when everyone else is asleep, and thus she has developed an affinity for darkness.
As a result, she feels that black blends well with other colors and fits most occasions. She even added "Nokturnal" to her name on Twitter to reflect her nocturnal lifestyle.
Despite growing up with a famous mother, filmmaker and celebrity host Nana Adwoa Awindor, Efya revealed that it was stressful as she was under a lot of pressure and even faced bullying in secondary school because of her mom's fame.
However, her parents' experience in the creative industry gave her an early start in video editing, directing, and animation, which contributed to her versatility in her career.
Regarding negative comments in the music industry, Efya said she is not bothered as it comes with the job.
When asked if she would wear black on her wedding day, she said yes, but she is not sure anymore. Overall, Efya's love for black reflects her lifestyle and the nature of her work.
