Most pastors in some Nigerian churches today take advantage of their members by asking them for money at every chance they get so that the church can grow.
Even if a member is as poor as a church rat, some general overseers have made it a requirement that they drop something (money or a donation of musical instruments) for the church.
According to a video that went viral and was posted on the Instablog9ja Facebook page, Nigerian actor Gideon Okeke complained that his church asks for money at the slightest chance.

Gideon Okeke could be seen in the fifty-second video saying, "I have finally come back from my church's crossover night program, but what puzzles me the most is that my church asks for money at every little chance it gets."
