Ex-Brazil star Adriano sold £1.2m mansion and moved into a hotel

FORMER Adriano, a soccer player for Brazil, moved into a fancy hotel after selling his mansion. He left behind everything but his medals.

He lived for a while in the presidential suite of the Grand Hyatt hotel in Rio de Janeiro's upscale Barra da Tijuca neighborhood.

A Tribuna says that after selling his mansion for £1.2 million, the former Inter Milan forward paid £10,000 a month in rent.

Local media say that Adriano left almost all of his things for the new owners and only took a few sentimental items with him, such as his awards from when he was a player.

The 40-year-old player won two Campeonato Brasileiro titles with Flamengo and one with Corinthians. He also won four Serie A titles with Inter.

But Adriano has had a rough few years on and off the field. He last played professionally for Miami United in 2016.

After his father died while he was in Italy, he drank a lot. In 2010, he was accused of drug trafficking, but in 2014, the charges were dropped.

Last year, he had to deny rumors that he had died because people were worried about his health.

After his hotel stay, the former football player may have bought a nearby beachfront home.

Adriano's old place has a dining room, a pool, and a full board with gourmet meals.

The once-dangerous finisher won the Copa America in 2004 and used to play with stars like Kaka and Ronaldinho.

He played for his country 48 times and scored 27 goals. The last time he played for his country was in 2010.
