Father disowned by family for covering himself with tattoos - See his reaction

Peter Bridgens grew up in a conservative family. When he started getting tattoos, his family wasn't happy, but he loves them and has no regrets.

A dad says that after getting tattoos all over his body, his family turned away from him, but he doesn't feel bad about it.

Peter Bridgens, who is 72 years old, has always wanted to get a tattoo, even when he was a child growing up in a strict family.

He wanted tattoos since he was eight years old, but he didn't get any until he was in his mid-30s.

Before he retired, the man from the West Midlands was in charge of transportation for Birmingham City Council. He now has tattoos all over his body, from his head to his toes.

He said: "Since I was eight years old, I wanted to get a tattoo.

"I was really interested in a neighbor who had a lot of tattoos, and I really liked his tattoos.

From the top of his head to the bottom of his feet, Peter Bridgens is covered in ink "I started my tattoo suit when I was 36, and it took me almost 20 years to finish it.

"I now have tattoos all over my body, from the top of my head to the bottoms of my feet.

"There are no gaps, and the only part of my face that isn't covered is the middle."

Peter loves his tattoos, but his family isn't as fond of them.

He argued: "They were very old-fashioned. My mother went crazy when she saw what I had done to my body.

The father of two got his first tattoo when he was 36 years old "A friend of my mother made the most scathing comment about me.

"I was in my car, and she came up to me when she saw me.

"It was hot, and I was sitting shirtless in my car when she said something to me.

""Oh, Peter, your tattoos!" she said. What made you decide to get them?'

"I told her that yes, I was a man with tattoos and that I hadn't really asked her opinion about me.

"I also told her that I didn't care what she thought or said about me, so she should keep her thoughts to herself."

Peter is glad he followed his interest in body art.

Peter has been married for 41 years, but he says that his family has stopped talking to him.

He now lives with his partner Michael and is happy to have found someone who likes how he looks.

Peter said: "I live with my partner, who loves me for who I am, and I'm very happy.

"I don't talk to any of my family members. I've been married for 41 years, and my two kids don't talk to me.

"But I don't feel bad about anything because I'm happy with how I am now."
