On the evening of April 16, 2023, three people, including a female, were arrested by the police for allegedly stealing a car from a driver on the Breman Kokoso to Amanfopong road in the Central Region.
According to reports from Kasapa News Yaw Boagyan, the gang leader, Ruth Agyapong, was the first suspect to be caught at her hideout. She then led the police to arrest the other two suspects, Edward and William Kissi.
Reportedly, Ruth hired a Toyota Yaris and while discussing the fare with the driver, the other two robbers emerged from the cemetery, where they were hiding, and started shooting. They forced the driver out of the car, took his money and mobile phones, tied him with a rope, and drove away with the car.
Fortunately, a kind-hearted person returning from the farm saw the driver struggling and helped him. The driver then reported the incident to the police, and after a thorough investigation, Ruth was arrested. During a search of her hotel room, the police found one pistol, live bullets, military uniforms, knives, scissors, and other weapons.
The suspects were taken to the District Police Command at Breman Asikuma for further investigation.
