In a tragic incident that has shaken the Ghanaian community in Columbus, USA, a man named Michael Kwabena Amoako took his own life after shooting his wife. The couple, who had migrated to the United States through the American Visa Lottery, had been living there with their four children. However, their relationship took a devastating turn when Amoako's wife, Harriet Yaa Gyamfua Aboagye, reconnected with her former boyfriend, Yaw Duah, during a recent visit to Ghana. The couple had planned to marry, causing immense distress to Amoako.

Unable to bear the emotional turmoil, Amoako tragically reached a breaking point and resorted to violence. He shot his wife, leaving her critically injured, before ending his own life. Prior to the heartbreaking act, Amoako recorded an audio message in which he revealed his intentions and expressed his final wishes. He requested his family to repatriate his body to Ghana after his death. Additionally, he urged people not to blame him for the incident but rather hold his partner responsible.

The loss of Michael Kwabena Amoako is a deeply saddening event, leaving behind a grieving community and a shattered family. It serves as a reminder of the importance of addressing mental health issues and promoting healthy communication within relationships. May the souls of those affected find solace and may this tragedy inspire a greater focus on supporting individuals in times of emotional distress.
