Fred Nuamah: Dumelo has pulled out of the race - Did he?

Many have questioned why two close friends, Fred Nuamah and John Dumelo, are contesting the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries in Ayawaso West Wuogon. The former has said he is surprised that the latter has changed his mind not to contest.

Fred, who was Dumelo's best man at the star's wedding in 2019, claims the actor will not step down because Dumelo initially had no plans to contest the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat, but instead had his sights set on another constituency.

In the race for the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat, Fred Nuamah has criticised actor John Dumelo for allegedly letting him down.

Fred claimed that John had given him the green light and thumbs up to contest as the NDC candidate in the constituency.

John Dumelo, he said, had informed him of his desire to contest the vacant SALL seat in the Oti area.

However, he was shocked when John Dumelo abruptly changed his mind and declared that he would contest the Ayawaso West seat.

Given that John Dumelo readily agreed to his request to contest the NDC seat, Fred Numah feels that he has not been treated fairly by John Dumelo.

“Truthfully, I am surprised about his U-turn because it was evident and crystal clear that he was not going for the Ayawaso seat anymore and rather invested in Guan/SALL. Frankly, it’s late to step down…He gave me his blessings when I made up my mind to contest,”

“I would have rather expected him to honour his word when he said he won’t contest the seat and, therefore, throw his support behind me.”
