Fred Nuamah has officially launched his bid for a seat in Ghana's parliament

Freda Nuamah is picking a form to contest in the Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary primaries.

The actor, who is also the CEO of the Ghana Movie Awards, has said he wants to contest the upcoming parliamentary primaries of the NDC to select candidates for the 2024 elections.

Fred Nuamah will be contesting for the leadership of the NDC in the same constituency where his best friend, John Dumelo will be contesting in the 2020 elections. The constituency is Ayawaso West Wuogon.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is likely to hold its presidential and parliamentary primaries on Saturday, 13 May 2023, to select a presidential candidate and parliamentary candidates for the 2024 elections.

According to the party's plan, interested persons should collect nomination forms from the party's website or headquarters by Wednesday 18 January.

Nominations can be submitted between Wednesday 22 February and Friday 24 February. Forms will also be collected and submitted from Monday 20 March 2023 to Wednesday 24 March 2023.

Many people are surprised by Fred Nuamah's news as he is still best friends with John Dumelo. Many people are wondering what John Dumelo will do next, as he is expected to run for Parliament again in 2024.

Will he run against Fred, his best friend, or will he run in another constituency? This is the question that many people want to know the answer to right now.

In the 2020 elections, the actor gave Lydia Seyram Alhassan of the NPP a tough time in the constituency, but she won in the end. The then incumbent MP polled 39,851 votes on the NPP ticket, while Dumelo of the NDC came second with 37,778 votes.

Confirming his intention, Fred disclosed that he has picked forms to contest the NDC primaries. "I HAVE OFFICIALLY PICKED FORMS TO CONTEST AYAWASO WEST WUOGON PARLIAMENTARY PRIMARIES," he said in a political poster.

Sharing the flyer on social media, he wrote "It’s official now. #toGodbetheglory".
