Ghana's First-of-its-Kind Police Station Sets the Standard for the Future

The newly-built police station in Obo Kwahu, located in the Kwahu South District of the Eastern Region, is a state-of-the-art facility that is ideal for law enforcement officers. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo officially opened the facility on April 8, 2023, and it is designed to cater to the needs of the Obo Kwahu community and surrounding areas.

The police station's construction represents a significant shift from the traditional police station setup, and the Ghana Police Service believes it could serve as a model for similar facilities throughout the country. The police station is expected to bolster security in the area and maintain law and order.

The facility was funded by a local businessman and philanthropist, Alex Tenkorang, also known as Abensuo, who contributed to the government's efforts to equip the police force to ensure security and law enforcement across the country. The commissioning of the police station was attended by the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), and local community members.

Overall, the new ultra-modern police station at Obo Kwahu is a significant milestone for law enforcement in Ghana. Its modern design and facilities make it an ideal workplace for police officers, and it is an asset to the community it serves.
