Kennedy Agyapong, a controversial politician and Member of Parliament for Assin Central, claims John Dramani Mahama has failed to prove that he is a more effective leader.
He claims John Dramani Mahama's incompetence and greed were evident even when he knew he could serve a second term after his first.
Kennedy Agyapong would like to encourage the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to find a leader who can help them break the eight, because he believes the alternative is frightening.
"John Mahama has failed our nation, so he hasn't shown that he is an effective leader. Therefore, by giving him another chance, he is telling the people that he has learnt his lesson when he lost his position of influence.
He only needs four years based on his past performance. Although he knew he would be re-elected if he managed the economy properly, he was unable to effectively lead this nation. God only knows what he will do now that he has only one term left, if it isn't greed. This is a warning to the NPP that the alternative is bad for Ghana, so we must be careful and put the needs of the nation first in all our decisions," he told Metro TV in Accra.
Kennedy Agyapong said the NDC has the potential to upset the election if it does not field John Dramani Mahama because, according to him, a fresh face "stands a better chance than Mahama".
