John Paintsil, a former Black Stars defender, has slammed the Ghana Football Association (GFA) following the death of Ghana winger Christian Atsu.
Since the player's body was found under the rubble of the Turkish earthquake on Saturday, the Ghana FA and others who knew the player have released statements expressing their grief.
John Paintsil says the GFA is being hypocritical.
He says the Ghana FA ignored the player when he didn't have a team, but now they're acting like they care about him.
"They made fun of him and kicked him out of the Black Stars when he was 31 years old.”
Since the snub, it's been difficult for Atsu to find a club where he can stay for good.
"We all know how much your club values and respects you when you play for your country. Don't act like you love them because you don't," said John Paintsil in an interview with Original FM.
Meanwhile, the body of Christian Atsu has been returned to Ghana from Turkey.
