During a parliamentary session, Ama Pomaa Boateng, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) representing the Juaben constituency, gave a tearful eulogy for her colleague and friend, Philip Basoah, who was the MP for Kumawu.
Ama Pomaa sat beside Basoah, and caught the attention of the Speaker as tributes were being read in Basoah's memory after Kwadaso MP, Dr Kingsley Nyarko, made a statement.
Ama Pomaa described the late Basoah as a close friend and brother, and while speaking about him, she was overcome with emotion and tears.
Other parliamentarians also shared their memories of the late MP, highlighting his strength, discipline, hard work and leadership skills.
Basoah had undergone trials to become an MP but persevered and eventually succeeded. The late MP's chair was adorned with a red band as a symbol of respect.
