A native doctor killed his client in his shrine while testing the gunshot protection charm he had made for him. The police have arrested him.
In recent months, 17 people in the state were arrested and put on display for crimes like murder, armed robbery, truck theft, kidnapping, and illegally having a gun. The native doctor was one of them.
DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the state's police public relations officer for the Enugu State Command, said this on Tuesday in a statement posted to the command's Twitter account.
Among the things that were found on the suspects were two guns, one real bullet, three fake guns, a Sino Truck with 789 bags of cement, cell phones, ATM cards, and other things.
According to the statement, Emmanuel was arrested after the crime was done and the Isi-Uzo Police Division was told about it.
Ndukwe said that when the suspect was being questioned, he admitted that he shot and killed Benedict at his shrine in Umuaram community with a locally made single-barreled gun while testing a charm he had made to protect him from gunshots.
“The gun has been recovered, while further investigation is ongoing at the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department Enugu,” the PPRO said.
