Sun, 4 Dec 2022 Source: Club Mate

Four Naval officers are accused of attacking an anti-robbery police patrol team in the Satellite town area of Lagos state on Saturday, December 3, and stabbing one of the police officers, ASP Abion Hezikel, to death.

Police sources who confirmed this to LIB say that the four Naval officers were on a motorcycle when they ran into a group of police officers on patrol in the Oluti area of Satellite town to stop thefts.

But it's not clear what caused them to disagree. The naval officers, who have been identified as S/NO. 20507 Onyekachi Egwumian, 27, and S/NO. 16933 Ebube Growth, 28, and two others who are still at large, are said to have attacked the officers and stabbed ASP Hezikel in the chest with a jackknife. They also hurt three other people who tried to settle the fight by talking to both sides.

The Divisional Police Officer for Satellite town was notified right away, and he quickly got the injured officer and the other three people to the Adeyemi Private hospital in Satellite town, where the officer's death was confirmed. The other people who were hurt were treated and sent home.

Police sources say that two suspects have been arrested and that their motorcycles have been found. The military has been called, and the body has been taken to the IDH morgue in Yaba.
