It was found out that Jeremiah and four other people were taken by kidnappers on Thursday while they were driving from Abuja to Jos, Plateau State.

A woman who was traveling told the unbelievable story of how she fought kidnappers in Plateau State and beat them.

Lucy Jeremiah was taken by a nine-person kidnapping gang on Monday. According to Punch, she told how she and other victims fought the kidnappers with their bare hands to get out of the bush where they were being held captive.

It was found out that Jeremiah and four other people were taken by kidnappers on Thursday while they were driving from Abuja to Jos, Plateau State.

The female victim, who was still in shock, told The PUNCH on Monday in Jos, where she was recovering at the Plateau State Police Command Headquarters, that she gave her life to God before she got the courage to fight the kidnappers with all her strength because she didn't want to go with them to their final destination.

Jeremiah said, "What happened was that last Thursday, we were driving from Abuja to Jos. I was sleeping in the car on the way to Government Science School, Kuru, in the Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State around 6 p.m., but when the car suddenly stopped, I woke up. When I woke up, a man with a gun was in front of me. When he opened the door, he told us to hand over our phones.

"He took all of our phones and cash. After that, he picked out four of us in the car and led us into the woods. The nine kidnappers told us to call our parents on the phone and asked for N5 million from each of us. After we made the calls, they took us deeper into the bush. I was the only woman among the four of us.

"As we went deeper into the bush, I told my fellow kidnap victims that we should plan our escape, but they were so scared of the idea and said they couldn't do anything because they didn't have any weapons to fight the kidnappers, who had a gun, a knife, and other weapons." By this time, only four of the nine people who had taken us hostage were still there. As we moved deeper into the bush, two of the four kidnappers who were still with us were following behind. The other two, who had a gun and a knife, led the way in front.

"Again, at this time, I told my fellow victims that we should do something and that I wouldn't follow the kidnappers any further into the bush to wherever they were taking us. I told them that God would be in charge. I also told them what to do, telling them that I would be the first one to grab the kidnapper with the gun and that they should help me if anything went wrong, which is exactly what I did. So, when I grabbed the kidnapper with the gun, the other kidnapper with a knife ran toward me and tried to stab me in the stomach. But when I turned around, he missed.

The woman victim broke down crying during the interview and couldn't go on.

Alabo Alfred, the Spokesman for the state Police Command, confirmed the incident by saying that the other kidnap victims who were rescued by the police along with the female victim had been taken to the hospital for treatment.

The PPRO said, "Four people were saved, and it happened on December 15 somewhere in Barkin Ladi LGA of the state." A group of police detectives tracked them down to Kassa Forest in the Barkin Ladi LGA, where they met Lucy Jeremiah and three other people who had been kidnapped. Lucy Jeremiah was found unconscious with a deep cut in her leg. She and the other victims were taken to the hospital for treatment, and we are doing everything we can to find the culprits.
