A young woman told how she got better from a disease that had ruined her childhood. She told Godfrey George of the Punch newspaper about how her stomach got bigger from the time she was 13 to the time she was 7 years old.
The woman, Efezino Patrick, from Agbarha Otor Community in Ughelli, Delta State, told how she quit school when she was in SS 2.
In her own words, she told how it all started in March 2013, when she started having constant stomach pains that her mother thought were because she was getting her period. But the pain didn't go away, and he ended up with a hard stomach that stuck out, so he went to the hospital. She said that the doctor told her mother to look for spiritual help.
This advice led her mother and siblings to try to get help from different places of worship, traditional healers, and other people, but nothing worked. She also said that a spiritualist told her to drink her own urine twice a day for six months, but that it didn't help. Her father couldn't be found, and her mother's marriage to her stepfather ended because of that.
God helped her get better. It got to the point where she decided to pray to God at home, and God helped her get better. Her life is back to normal now, and she is still alive to tell her story.
