I Took A Loan To Bring Him And His Mother To London But This Happened

Sat, 18 Feb 2023 Source: Club Mate

Nobody ever expects to be in a situation where they are taking a loan to bring their loved ones from one country to another, but that's exactly what happened to me. My husband and his mother had been living in Ghana for several years, and I wanted to bring them to London so we could start a new life together as a family.

I took out a loan to cover the cost of the visas, flights, and other expenses associated with the relocation. However, upon their arrival in the UK, we were met with a shock.

The immigration services informed us that my husband and his mother were not eligible to stay in the country because they did not meet the necessary requirements. This was simply heartbreaking and took an emotional as well as a financial toll on us.

I was stunned by this unexpected turn of events, and I felt helpless knowing that my husband and his mother were being forced to return to Ghana. We had to use a large portion of the loan to cover the cost of the flight back, leaving us in a difficult situation.

It was then that I realized how important it is to ensure that you are meeting all the necessary requirements before taking the plunge and moving somewhere else. It's so easy to get caught up in the excitement and overlook the important details – something I wish I had done.

Now that the experience is behind us, I’m thankful that we were able to reunite my husband and his mother despite the ordeal. It’s taught me a valuable lesson in being mindful and researching the ins and outs of all the relevant regulations before taking any large, life-changing steps.

Moving country is no easy feat, and now I know that it’s essential to get it right the first time around.
