Koku Anyidoho, a former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), explains why he fell out with Asiedu Nketiah: "I grew up in a respectable home, went to a good school and I am my own man who would not allow himself to be corrupted."

According to him, Asiedu Nketiah wanted him to denigrate President Akufo-Addo and Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, the then Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), and when he refused, Asiedu Nketiah went after him (Koku Anyidoho).

In March 2018, Koku Anyidoho was detained by the BNI after a press conference organised by the Inter-Party Coalition for National Sovereignty at the International Press Centre in Accra.

He is alleged to have said that President Nana Akufo-Addo's government would see a social revolution.

Koku Anyidoho says Asiedu Nketiah persuaded him to go on a media tour to criticise Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, the then president and head of the CID, for mistreating him in detention, even though he had been treated with respect during his detention.

"Asiedu Nketiah wanted me to insult the President and Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah after I was released from the BNI cells, but I refused. I was Asiedu Nketiah's assistant at the time.

Asiedu Nketiah and I had a falling out over this.

"We fell out because I didn't want to lie about what the BNI cells had done to me.

I didn't want to lie about it because I don't follow orders, but I was treated with respect.

"In an interview with Don Kwabena Prah of Happy 98.9 FM's political discussion programme 'Epa Hoa Daben', he stated, "I didn't want to be made a fool or a slave by politics".

The politician revealed that Asiedu Nketiah also persuaded some party members to spread allegations that Koku Anyidoho (Koku Anyidoho) had received money from President Akufo-Addo, which is why he decided not to sue them for mistreating him while he was detained in a BNI cell.

He described Asiedu Nketiah as a selfish, wicked leader who has no regard for the NDC.
