Joe Mettle, a gospel singer, says that after he got married there were rumours that he did it to hide the fact that his wife was pregnant, but he didn't care.
But he almost lost it when a certain woman went on national radio and said things that seemed to support his claims.
He thought the woman was deliberately trying to hurt his family, so he decided to stand up for his wife.
"There was even a woman on one of the stations who said, 'Oh, she's pregnant and he married her because she was pregnant and the parents said if he didn't marry the girl...'. She even said she had a reliable source.”
"For the first time I almost did something, but I thought: 'Hey, that's not necessary. So we had to talk to her. Unfortunately, I know the owner of the station where she worked," he said.
Mr Mettle told Prime Morning on Joy Prime that the rumours were hurting his wife because she had just got married.
"I'm in it myself, so I understand. So I really don't mind people talking about me and stuff like that. These rumours don't bother my wife, but she just got married at the time, so it was all new to her. So it was a lot, but she'll be fine," he said.
He also said that although he is always busy, he tries to spend more time with his family whenever he can.
He also said that he doesn't have a nanny looking after his child because he thinks it's better to get to know your child when they are young and most nannies don't let you do that.
The singer also said that his fans can look forward to a beautiful local song from him this year.
