I don’t have 9 wives, I have just one – Prof. Fobih

Professor Dominic Fobih, the former Education Minister, has refuted claims suggesting that he recently entered his ninth marriage. The internet was abuzz with videos showcasing the vibrant wedding ceremony of the 80-year-old former Member of Parliament for Assin South. The attention-grabbing aspect was the assertion that the politician's new spouse, a stunning young woman, was 27 years old, and that this union marked his ninth marriage.

In a video clip from the event, Professor Fobih, donned in a traditional kente cloth, appeared thrilled as he danced alongside his new wife, who wore an elegant white and gold beaded-laced corset gown. Their dance was accompanied by Dada KD's love song 'Fatia Fata Nkrumah,' while the crowd cheered them on. The elderly gentleman held his wife's waist while she placed her hands on his shoulders.

However, during an exclusive interview on Morning Starr on Starr FM, Professor Fobih addressed the allegations surrounding his marriage. He categorically stated that the reports about his latest marriage were rooted in ignorance and contained false information that had misled the public.

"I do not have nine wives; I have only one wife. I recently got married. Prior to this, I did not have a wife. Who in Ghana has nine wives? If anyone is discussing nine wives, they have been misinformed. Those who are commenting are basing their opinions on what they have read, and that is simply due to a lack of knowledge," Prof. Fobih explained.

The former Cabinet Minister also dismissed claims that his young wife was 27 years old, clarifying that she is, in fact, 31 years old and works as a medical professional.

Describing himself as a resolute individual who knows what is best for him, he asserted, "I am a strong-willed person, and I am always convinced about the decisions I make and what is best for me. I understand the reasons behind my choices, so regardless of what others may say, they can speculate all they want. I did not marry for anyone else; I married for myself," Prof. Fobih concluded.

Born on July 16, 1942, Dominic Fobih served as a legislator from January 2001 to January 2017 under the New Patriotic Party. He also held the position of Minister of Lands, Forestry, and Mines during former President John Agyekum Kufour's administration.
