In Adum-Kumasi, Inspector Ahmed Twumasi was arrested by the police on Sunday for allegedly shooting his lover, Victoria Dapaah, also known as Maadwoa.
According to the prosecution document read in court on Tuesday, April 25, the Inspector admitted to killing her because she owed him GH¢5,000.
This caused an emotional scene at the Asokore Mampong District Court, where hundreds of people gathered to witness the proceedings. The accused has been charged with murder and it was revealed that he used a service pistol to commit the crime.
Although the judge did not allow him to plead guilty or not, Inspector Twumasi stated that he had no intention of committing the crime, and that what happened was between him and God. He has been remanded into police custody and will reappear in court on Tuesday, May 30.
