“I’m I safe” - Fear grips MCE as angry NPP youth storm radio station

Aremeyaw Somo Lucky, the MCE of West Mamprusi, was thrown out of a radio talk show by angry youth from Nalerigu, the capital of the North East region.

Last Thursday, the thing happened at Tizaa radio, a radio station in Nalerigu.

Reports say that the MCE was at the radio station because the host of the morning show asked him to talk about development problems in his municipality.

While the show was going on, a group of young NPP members started getting people to gather in front of the radio station to protest something they said the MCE said on the show.

As people gathered at the radio station, two members of the group walked into the studios and told the MCE to cut short the live show. They then chased the MCE out of the building.

The MCE was pulled out of the studio to face the angry kids who were yelling and chanting loudly and asking their leaders for permission to "teach him a lesson."

After long talks with the leaders of the NPP youth group, some Nalerigu elders stepped in just in time to save the MCE from being killed by a mob.

Two leaders of the angry youth asked the MCE to stop giving interviews and meet with them instead. The MCE, who was shaking with fear, was overheard asking, "Am I safe? Can you promise your people that I'll be safe?"
