Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the MP for the Assin Central Constituency in the Central Region, has said that even though he is the underdog in the upcoming presidential primaries of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), he is ready to pull off a surprise.
He said that, just like Samuel didn't think David was good enough to be king of Israel when he was asked to choose a new king for Israel after God turned his back on Saul, he would be chosen by God to save the people of Ghana.
"If you look at the list of people who signed up for the contest, it's true that I'm the underdog. But when Samuel wanted to choose a new king for Israel, he looked at the height of all the children except David.
But God had his own plans, and David was part of them," he stressed.
Mr. Agyapong told Prophet Isaac Owusu Bempah this on Sunday when he went to see him at the Glorious Word Power Ministries international at South Odorkor in Accra.
He said he was more than sure that the country's luck would change while he was president. He said, "No matter where the country is or how bad things are for us as a country, I will turn things around."
The MP, on the other hand, asked the church and all Ghanaians to pray for him because the fight would not be easy.
"All I need from you is your help and prayers. "I want you to know that with your help and prayers, we will change the way things are in this country, no matter how hard things are right now," he said.
He talked about his crusade against false prophets in the country and said that it was meant to remind Christians that they should be wary of such pastors and prophets in the system.
He said that even though some people called him "anti-Christ" for leading the crusade, he wasn't. He stressed, "I believe in God, and I also know there are real men of God in the system. My crusade was not to attack Christendom, but the false prophets in the system."
Mr. Agyapong said that his crusade was meant to do the same thing that Elijah did when he showed the Baal prophets the truth and destroyed them.
Prophet Owusu Bempah, who is the General Overseer of the Glorious Word Power Ministries International, thanked Mr. Agyapong for coming and said that he would continue to pray for Mr. Agyapong to get what he wants.
He said that spiritual issues couldn't be ignored in anything people did, and he stressed that "the spiritual realm controls our physical being." It's important to look for God's face in everything we do."
He said that talking to God through his prophets was the right thing to do, citing 2nd Kings 3:12–18. He said that the only way to conquer the physical world was through the spiritual world.
