Popular Ghanaian artiste, Sista Afia, also known as Francisca Gawugah, has revealed that she would like to see her entertainment colleague, John Dumelo, become president one day.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra Fm on 2 March 2022, the hiplife and Afropop musician stressed that it is important for the elderly to give young people the chance to take over the management of the affairs of the various states in Africa.
According to the singer, the continent has not seen any significant development despite decades of regimes led by very old men.
"I have always believed that the problem with these men is their advanced age. We have given the old people many opportunities and if they had helped us, we wouldn't be in this situation," she insisted.
Sis Afia also stated that if given the choice, she would choose John Setor Dumelo, a popular Ghanaian actor, to lead the country as president.
"I am not voting for him because he is a member of the NDC," the musician said, "but because he is youthful and capable of running the affairs of the country".
When asked what is so unique about John Dumelo, the 'Asuoden' hitmaker claimed that the actor-turned-politician is committed and has created a number of projects to support the youth.
The renowned music icon went on to say that if she was given the power to rule the nation for a week, she would focus on solving the problems of power, hospitals, roads, schools, etc.
