Richard Agbadzi, a known fraudster, has been defrauding unsuspecting people by impersonating a representative of Dzata Cement on the telephone number 055371026 and has been arrested along with seven other suspects in connection with related crimes according to a publication by theheraldghana.com.
He is also the mastermind behind the group of fraudsters who have been causing problems for the company for months.
Since its launch two years ago, the brand has created a buzz, competing with most well-known products in terms of price and quality, but criminals have also discovered it as a means of making money illegally.
Richard admitted to all the charges brought against him by the Police Special Cyber Team.
Richard used a fake website he created under the guise of Dzata Cement to run his business, posting fabricated content such as advertisements and promotions, as well as a fictitious address on Google Maps.
To impersonate Dzata Cement employees on social media, Richard also hacked into WhatsApp platforms and had his friends set up fake company accounts.
To give them authenticity, he took some of the pictures from the company's social media profiles.
The company appreciated the efforts of the police in apprehending Richard.
