Dr. Kwabena Duffuor Junior, the son of former finance minister and National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer hopeful, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, has been given the green light to participate in the party's Parliamentary Primaries, which will take place on May 13th. He will be competing against incumbent Alex Adomako, who is also his father's brother.

Dr. Duffour Jr. was cleared to run as a candidate in the Sekyere Afram Plains Constituency by the Ashanti Regional Parliamentary Primaries Vetting Committee. The committee was accompanied by polling station executives and some regional executives of the NDC.

After vetting, he secured the second spot on the ballot paper and urged the constituents to vote for him to bring development to the farming constituency. His wife also accompanied him during the process.

According to reports, Dr. Duffour Jr. is expected to win the primaries with more than 70% of the votes. However, he dismissed his opponents' campaign claims that he is not familiar with the Sekyere Afram Plains Constituency, stating that he has been a contributing member of the party in the area for years.

During his arrival at the Ashanti Region office of the NDC, there was a lot of excitement as NDC members scrambled to shake his hand. Dr. Duffour Jr. described the vetting process as smooth and successful and appealed to the delegates to vote for him in the upcoming primaries.
