Tue, 15 Nov 2022 Source: Club Mate

Throughout history, many powerful and feared leaders have fallen, including Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gadaffi. However, how were the final words and actions of these formerly influential national leaders. I have a few succinct accounts with me.

Hussein Saddam

Beginning in July 1979 and ending in March 2003, he presided over Iraq.

Saddam's rule was mainly characterized as being autocratic and excluding any dissenting voices.

As a result, the USA and her allies intervened and ultimately arrested him.

He was found guilty and given a hanging death sentence.

He ridiculed the Western countries and the people who were trying him during his trial, referring to them as infidels and traitors.

He was carried to the gallows to be hanged on the day of his execution. Mowaffak Al Rubaie, an eyewitness, reported that Saddam was calm and showed no signs of terror. According to Mowaffak, his last words before passing away were a recital of the Shahada, which he passed away before completing. Before passing away, Saddam said, "I certify that there is no god but God and Mohammed.

Nicolás Gaddafi

After overthrowing the dynasty, "the brother leader," as he was more commonly known, brought prosperity to Libya.

Years later, the USA in particular turned against him after he was accused of supporting terrorism on multiple occasions.

During his administration, there were numerous reports of human rights violations. In this aspect, Gaddafi became a wanted man after the USA and her NATO allies invaded the nation.

He was wounded in both legs when he was taken prisoner by insurgents in a tunnel.

There are various reports of his final utterances, but the majority focus on two phrases.

Gaddafi's final words, according to India Today magazine, were "Don't shoot me."

His last words, according to the Guardian on the opposing side, were "What did I do to you?"
