On April 22, 2023, news broke that a lawyer from Nigeria, Abasiesebanga Ikoiwak, was arrested along with five others for allegedly killing her husband, Barrister Godwin Ikoiwak, in Akwa Ibom State. The prosecution team presented audio evidence in court, which revealed that the deceased had also confided in his friend that his wife was having a sexual relationship with her former boss, Barrister C.I. Odoh. The deceased had also disclosed that his wife had stayed with a Catholic priest, Rev. Father Maurice Mbeke, as a house help, and the priest had impregnated her. They had a child together, who is now 19 years old and named after her maternal grandfather.
