A 34-year-old Ugandan man is waiting for his sentence after pleading guilty to assault charges. He hit his Kenyan wife after she caught him in their bed with another woman on Christmas Day.
After being charged at the Makadara Law Courts on December 25, 2022, Mr. Peter Wakube admitted to hitting his wife, Aida Nekesa, in the Kosovo area of Mathare, which is in the city of Nairobi.
Ms. Nekesa, who works as a housekeeper, got home around 2:00 pm and found Mr. Wakube with another woman.
The court heard that she broke into Mr. Wakumbe's house after he didn't answer any of her knocks and found him and his lover making out.
Mr. Wakube beat her up with punches and kicks and threw her out of the house, where he continued to beat her for ruining the sweet moment. Neighbors stepped in and saved the complainant from Mr. Wakube's attack. Ms. Nekesa was hurt in the face and the middle of her body.
She was taken to the police station in Mathare, where she filed a report before being taken to the hospital.
Her P3 form was filled out, and her injuries were listed.
Later, Mr. Wakube was caught at his house.
In a fit of anger, the complainant tore up a picture of himself. The police found the pieces.
He told Principal Magistrate Agnes Mwangi that he was sorry and asked for leniency.
Ms. Mwangi said that the convict's social inquiry report should be shown before he is sentenced on January 24, 2023.
