Five days after initially seeing his partner for the first time across the globe, a guy was murdered in a car accident.

Following an internet relationship, Stefan Mattias from Stockholm fell in love with Veeranuch Buthinkong and made a vow to fly her back to "a big mansion in Europe."

The 50-year-old tourist arrived in Thailand and made his way to Veeranuch's house in the isolated Roi Et district in the country's northeast.

On Saturday, January 28, just before 2.30 p.m. local time, he crashed into a roadside ditch while operating a motorcycle owned by her family.

He had a major cut on his right leg, head wounds, a fractured neck, and head injuries.

Veeranuch, devastated, fell to the ground sobbing as she saw her boyfriend's body.

She uttered: "My heart is shattered. Only five days were spent here by my lover.

The Swedish man fell off the bike and died.

The Swedish man fell off the bike and died.

"He was wealthy and promised to take care of me in a large home. I have nothing right now.

"I advised him to use caution when riding. I find it hard to comprehend he left us so quickly. I'm very surprised."

Veeranuch claimed that about two years ago, she met Stefan on social media and they started corresponding. Soon, they were communicating daily via text and phone calls, with the Swede promising her a better life.

He flew from Sweden to meet her for the first time while taking time off work.

With the approval of her family, they decided to move in together and make plans to return to Sweden together.

On the day of the incident, Stefan ate his lunch and then hopped on his motorcycle to explore the neighborhood.

A neighboring homeowner claimed that although they did not witness the occurrence, they heard the sound of a motorcycle before it crashed.

Police After receiving the emergency call, Lieutenant Tharathip Wijarn, a physician from Suwant tophum Hospital, and paramedics hurried to the scene.

A curve about six kilometers from Veeranuch's village served as the accident site.

Officer Tharathip stated: "We believe Mr. Mattias rode too quickly since he was unfamiliar with the route. His remains will be transported to the medical center for a post-mortem investigation."

One of the worst records for global road safety is held by Thailand.
