Man who arrested armed robbers gets chieftaincy title

According to a report by Angel Online, a 42-year-old man, Mr. Alex Osei Donkoh, has been awarded a chieftaincy title in the Adansi Praso Traditional Council of the Ashanti Region. He is now known as Nana Osei Okogyeaman I, the Gyaasehene of Adansi Praso. The traditional leaders and people of Adansi Praso enstooled him on April 20, 2023, following customary and traditional processes. He was presented to the community in a colourful procession through the main streets.




The Chief of Adansi Praso, Nana Agyemang Pemsan I, explained that Nana Osei Okogyeaman I was recognized for his exceptional contributions to the peace and development of the area. He had demonstrated bravery by fighting notorious criminals who were terrorizing the community, leading to post-traumatic stress disorder among the locals. Nana Osei Okogyeaman I tracked down and arrested the criminals and handed them over to the police, resulting in restored peace and stability in the area. The Chief reiterated that he deserved the chieftaincy title and urged him to continue fostering peace and unity in the area.

During the installation ceremony, high-profile personalities including DCE for Assin North, Hon. Charles Ohene Andoh, Chief of Assin Dansame, DCE for New Edubiase, Chiefs across the region and some political representatives were present. The Kyidomhene of Adanse Praso, Nana Okofo Tabi, assured the new Gyaasehene of their unwavering support toward the development of the area.

In his response, Nana Osei Okogyeaman I pledged to focus on peace, unity, and development. He urged the government and benevolent individuals to assist in building a police station since lands are available for the project to help curb crime and other illegal activities. He also advised the youth to focus on building a better future through legal means and avoid the "get-rich-quick" mentality that could damage their growth prospects.
