Methodist Church Elder’s Wedding Interrupted By Secret Lover, See What Happened

Yesterday, his lover showed up at his wedding at Waddilove High School in Marondera. This embarrassed the church elder.

Gabriel Matsiwe, the circuit leader of the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe, and Lian Muzanenhamo's wedding was stopped when the church leader's secret lover, only known as Nyari, stood up to object to the two being married in a religious ceremony.

On Matsiwe's best day, he was getting married to a prophetess named Muzanenhamo, who was also known as Madzimai Nunurai in Dzivaresekwa and Dema. Everything was going well.

When the marriage officer asked if anyone had a good reason why the two couldn't get married, trouble started.

Nyarai couldn't keep quiet, so she told the wedding guests and the marriage officer that Matsiwe and she were lovers, and that he had promised to pay her lobola on Christmas Day.

"Gabriel gave me a date to pay lobola, but he never told me that he had found someone else to marry today," Nyari said.

"He first set a date with my parents in August of this year. Later, he changed it to Christmas Day.

"Some of my relatives had already come from outside the country for the lobola ceremony, but he started making up excuses at the last minute.

"Then we were shocked to hear that he was getting married today," she said.

The marriage officer then called Nyari, Matsiwe, his parents, and the parents of his bride into the school's boardroom to talk about the problem and figure out what to do next.

Nyari asked Matsiwe to be clear, and he told her that their relationship was over.

After an hour, Nyari came out of the meeting in the boardroom and left the venue. The wedding ceremony then went on as planned.
