During his appearance on the Delay Show, Kumawood actor Michael Afranie discussed his reasons for joining the National Democratic Party (NDC).

He shared his family history, revealing that his father was a strong supporter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), while his mother was an advocate for the NDC.

Afranie explained that he felt compelled to join the NDC after seeing the unity and support amongst its members. He expressed his unwavering loyalty to the party and stated that he has never regretted his decision to switch political affiliations.

Afranie, who is recognized for his roles in popular Ghanaian movies such as "Obaapa Nisuo" and "The Mighty," has been open about his political views. He further explained his decision to switch from the NPP to the NDC, stating that he owes a debt of gratitude to former President John Mahama and the NDC.

According to Afranie, he was moved to join the NDC due to the love and support he experienced from the party's members, which he felt was lacking in the NPP.

Afranie went on to describe the NPP as a group of individuals who are stingy and unwilling to support one another.

He revealed that he had been a member of the NPP since 1992 but only truly felt enlightened and supported after joining the NDC.

Afranie also shared that he had received a Hyundai i10 car as a gift from John Mahama, and his Mitsubishi vehicle was obtained through a loan scheme from the ministry under the NDC government. Overall, Afranie emphasized his loyalty to the NDC and his belief that the party represents the unity and support that he values in a political organization.
