Militants Went to Kill A Pastor But Ended Up Finding Something That Changed Their Lives

One of the missionaries who puts his life on the line to spread the Gospel in Nigeria recently talked about a dangerous situation he faced when militants came to his area to kill Christians.

Oscar Amaechina, president of the Afri- Mission and Evangelism Network, told the Christian Post how he and his fellow campers made it through. This is a group that wants to preach the Gospel in African cities where people have never heard of Jesus.

"We were helping people when a group of militants came to kill us. They admitted it to themselves later, "he said. "We saw them with their machetes and swords, and we thought that was our last moment on earth," he said.

Oscar Amaechina is in the middle and is wearing green. He is a missionary with the Afri Mission and Evangelism Network.

Oscar and his friends thought they were going to die right then. He says that instead of running away, begging, or getting scared, they decided to do something nice for the bullies.

So, they gave them food and other supplies, which changed everything right away. "They had rice, spaghetti, soup, and cream. They moved away from us all of a sudden, "the missionary thought back.

"Later, they came back, and one of their leaders told us through an interpreter, "We came to kill you." No one has ever given us gifts because we are poor, but the gifts they gave us made us want to become Christians "said what the interpreter had said.

The missionaries were able to stay alive because of an act of love, and they were also able to see how the hearts of the people who were going to kill them changed.

"I almost couldn't believe it. We bring them to Jesus. It was great, it was wonderful. We have never stopped spreading love since that day. Kindness and love have power. And that's how our ministry feels about it, "she stressed.

Even though not all stories about the Persecuted Church have such a happy ending, missionary Oscar Amaechina's story is a powerful reminder that people can change their lives, no matter what kind of sin they have done.

When Christians do what Jesus told them to do, which is to "love God and love your neighbor," many strange and unexpected things can happen.

Nigeria is one of the places in the world where it is most dangerous to be a Christian. The country comes in at number seven on the "World Persecution List 2022." In this Sharia (Islamic law) country, Christians are brutally killed just for preaching the Gospel.
