Mills’ death: Mahama must provide information on whereabouts of CCTV recorders at Osu Castle

Ernest Kofi Owusu Bempah-Bonsu, who serves as the Deputy Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is raising concerns about the CCTV footage at the Christianburg Castle.

According to a report by Angel Online, Mr. Bempah-Bonsu suspects that the cameras may have been tampered with before the death of former President John Evans Atta Mills. Bempah-Bonsu believes that there is more to the mysterious death of Atta Mills, and he is calling for a thorough investigation.

Atta Mills died suddenly while in office on July 24, 2012, shortly after returning to Ghana from the US for medical care. After his death, John Mahama, who was then the Vice President, relocated the Presidency from the Christianburg Castle in Osu to the Flagstaff House, which is the current seat of government.

Despite more than a decade passing since Atta Mills' death, some people continue to question the cause, although his family claims to know what killed him.

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, who was Atta Mills' Communications Director, is among those calling for a public inquiry into his death.

However, Bempah-Bonsu, while speaking on Angel 102.9FM and Angel TV’s Anɔpa Bɔfoɔ morning show on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 believes that Mahama should be compelled to answer some questions to shed more light on the matter.

Bempah-Bonsu is convinced that answers to some of these questions would be essential in finding out what caused Atta Mills' death. He said that the NPP plans to reveal the hidden secrets of the former President's death in the coming weeks to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

Bempah-Bonsu pointed out that the whereabouts of the CCTV cameras are still unknown, and he dared anyone with information on their location to come forward. He also questioned the whereabouts of the young man who used to clean Atta Mills' shoes at the castle. He believes that there are hidden truths yet to be exposed, and more information will be revealed soon.
