In a viral video that has been circulating online, a wedding ceremony in Anambra state, Nigeria, was disrupted by a swarm of bees, causing guests to run for their safety.
According to reports, the couple had scheduled their traditional wedding on a special market day in Okija, despite being advised against it. The gods were said to have sent the bees as punishment for their defiance of the sacred day.
The video shows attendees screaming and fleeing in different directions as the bees attacked them. Some commenters on social media suggested that the incident was a consequence of disregarding tradition and choosing to follow imported religions.
They pointed out that it's important to respect and observe local customs when planning such events, and to seek guidance from elders and community leaders. In some villages, for example, it's taboo to marry on certain days, and picking such a day for a wedding could result in similar consequences.
