Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) said that the lack of power from Electricity Company of Ghana (EGC-Kumasi) to the Barekese Water Treatment Plant and the Achiase Booster Station is to blame for the water supply problems in Kumasi Metropolis on Monday, January 9, 2023.
In a statement dated January 10, 2023, and seen by Filasconews.com, GWCL apologized to its customers in Kumasi Metropolis for the problem and said that engineers from Ghana Water Company Limited and Electricity Company of Ghana are currently on site working to fix the problem as soon as possible so that their customers can get enough water.
“We sincerely apologise to our cheerished customers. We are assuring you that, measures have been put in place to rectify the problem as soon as possible.
Ghana Water Company Limited engineers, together with the engineers of Electricity Company of Ghana are on site working to ensure adequate supply of water in the Kumasi Metropolis and surrounding areas”, part of the statement read.
