Susan from Naivasha has told the sad story of how she slept with her husband one night, and after they were done, he collapsed and died. She thought he was sleeping until morning, when she woke him up, but he didn't wake up.
She was born in Murang'a, and her mom raised her there by herself after her father died when she was young. Her mother couldn't pay for her to go to school, so she didn't. She ran away from home when she was 15 and later worked as a housekeeper.
After two years, she met a man, got married, and moved to a village in the county of Nyandarua. They had to work with their hands to make a living, and her life as a wife was good. When she had her third child, her husband started having fits. When he was taken to the hospital, doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong.
Since he fell down almost every day, life got hard for him. They went to work one day and came back home in the evening. She made dinner, everyone ate well, and then she put the kids to bed. Around 10 pm, they went to bed, and her husband asked her to sleep with him.
They slept together, and when they woke up, he went to sleep right away. Susan didn't know that he had passed away after passing out. When she woke up in the morning, she got the kids ready for school and then went to wake up her husband. She tried to shake him, but he wouldn't move.
She called her husband's mother-in-law, who lived nearby, to make sure he was dead. She was so surprised that she couldn't believe it. They did what was right and buried him. On the day they buried her husband, her mother-in-law kicked her out.
