Akesse Brempong, a gospel performer from Ghana, has described how his wife discovered she was pregnant during an armed robbery incident.

When explaining the motivation behind his song "God is Working" to Fiifi Folson on Joy FM's "The Reason is Jesus," he claimed he wrote it to show his gratitude to God after his wife finally became pregnant four years after they got married.

Akesse stated that he and his wife Benedicta Akesse Brempong were married in 2011 and that they had been trying to conceive for four years without success.

Once we started dating, we began to receive prophetic messages from God regarding the children He would give us, the type of house we would construct, and many other things, he recalled.

The gospel singer and pastor claimed that despite their best efforts, physicians were unable to help.

Dicta [his wife] came to talk to me once, and it broke me. Although we are travelling and serving the Lord, your home needs something, praying for folks and observing some signs of God's intervention in their lives, but we still have a need.

Tell your wife that when I turn her captivity, she will be like a dreamer, the Lord whispered to me as I prayed, he said.

His wife was then employed with Ghana Commercial Bank in Obuasi. He went to see her one day, and then they went to a friend's wedding. On the way back to Accra, they held hands and prayed, and he had a strong feeling that his wife would become pregnant that month.

So I told her, 'This month, you're going to get pregnant. In my spirit, I feel that, he said to Fiifi Folson.

Two months had passed, and almost at the end of the month, Dicta was travelling from her place of employment to Kumasi. According to Akesse Brempong, she wasn't driving then, it was late. I so advised her against driving as she was leaving Obuasi and it was late. She should simply choose public transportation.

Unfortunately, there were armed robbers in the taxi she chose.

They tried to remove her wedding band but were unsuccessful because it was stuck to her fingers. They also stole her phone and money, he added.

He claimed they shoved her, causing her to fall onto her arms. They asked for a doctor's report when they reported the incident to the police.

After checking her out, the doctor kept urging her to perform a pregnancy test. My mother brought her there because she had a sprain in her arm from the armed robbery, and she was upset. Pregnancy test with sprain in arm? he asked.

The doctor said that the pregnancy test was necessary because the drug she was going to give her would harm the foetus if she was pregnant.

And she found out she was eight weeks pregnant in that way. Hence, it signified that she had already conceived and started a new month when I provided the prophetic word, he said.

Akesse Brempong claims that each of his songs has a purpose, which is why he takes his time before releasing new music.

Songs like "Crazy Love," "Bongo Worship," "Blessed," "Victory," "No Weed," and "Heal Our Land" are among his most known.
