My wife named our first son after her first love and I had no idea

As a father, I was looking forward to deciding what to name my first child, but I was in for a surprise.

After some time had passed, I was able to look at it from a different perspective. I had to accept that my wife had very strong feelings for this person, and that naming our son after him was a way for her to honor those feelings. In a way, it was a kind of closure for her.

It was also a reminder for me to embrace the feelings of others, even if they’re stronger than my own. I’m still learning, but it’s an important lesson that I value more and more.

I’ve come to understand why my wife named our son after her first love. In fact, I’m proud of her for taking a risk and honoring her feelings in such a meaningful way.

My son’s name is a reminder that relationships and emotions can be complicated, but that we should never be afraid to be open and honest about them. It’s also a reminder to me that, as difficult as it is, it’s important to take a step back and try to understand the perspective of someone you love. That's something we can all learn from.
