Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has announced that he is filing his nomination to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 elections. He claims that he is the best candidate to beat whoever the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presents in the election.
According to Mahama, his mere mention strikes fear into the NPP, and therefore, he is the only viable option for the NDC to secure a win in the election.
Mahama made this announcement during his three-day tour of the Eastern Region, where he addressed party delegates in Somanya. He argued that it is not the time to take a risk with a new person and claimed that other aspirants do not stand a chance against the NPP in the 2024 elections.
He stated that the NPP fears him the most among all the NDC members, and they cannot sleep when they hear his name. He further added that God has given them the power to win the election, and he has been assured of victory through visions from God.
Mahama also advised all the Parliamentary candidate hopefuls of the NDC to conduct a decent campaign and not resort to insults.
He urged them to support the elected parliamentary candidate and assured them that they will all be supported in their future endeavors, as there are many appointments available for those who do not become MPs.
