Okudzeto Breaks Silence on Kicking Kusi Boateng's Writ - Find Out What Really Happened

Mon, 8 May 2023 Source: Club Mate

Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Nongu, has finally provided an explanation for why he kicked a writ from Rev. Kusi Boateng that was served to him by a bailiff.

Speaking on Accra-based Metro TV, Ablakwa admitted that the incident was unfortunate but stated that he was provoked by the bailiff's behavior. He described the encounter, saying that he asked the gentleman who he was, but the bailiff refused to answer and simply stated that he had documents for him.

Ablakwa expressed his frustration, wanting to know what kind of documents they were, but the bailiff threw them at him instead. Feeling disrespected, Ablakwa lost his temper and kicked the writ out of his way.

He emphasized that this behavior was out of character for him and that he was simply reacting to the situation. The incident took place on February 3, 2023, after Ablakwa appeared on Metro Television's morning show, Good Morning Ghana.

A video of the incident went viral, sparking mixed reactions and calls for Ablakwa to face consequences. The writ sought to restrain Ablakwa from making further public disclosures of private information, documents, correspondence, communication, and property belonging to Rev. Kusi Boateng.

However, an Accra High Court dismissed the contempt case against Ablakwa on Tuesday, citing inconsistencies and doubts in the evidence presented by Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng, the Secretary to the National Cathedral Board of Trustees. The court concluded that the evidence did not meet the legal standard of proof beyond a reasonable doubt.
