Oppong Nkrumah conspired with the media to bring me down — Frimpong-Boateng

In a shocking revelation, former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, accused Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, of plotting with a group of journalists to tarnish his reputation according to a report by Metro Tv Online.

Frimpong-Boateng explained in a 37-page report on the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM) that Oppong Nkrumah organized a meeting at the Forest Hotel in Dodowa, where they discussed a strategy to bring him down.

Frimpong-Boateng discovered this plan when a journalist who attended the meeting informed a friend of his, who also happened to be a journalist. The friend was warned to look out for negative headlines in some newspapers following the meeting.

The report reveals that the words of the journalists were manifested when The Informer Newspaper, whose editor was allegedly part of the meeting, published a front-page headline on February 10, 2020, claiming that Frimpong-Boateng had been sacked by President Akufo-Addo for soiling the image of the government.

The report also notes that Oppong Nkrumah, who was a member of the IMCIM, never contacted Frimpong-Boateng about the issue of missing excavators but instead magnified it in the press and presented falsehoods before the Cabinet.

Frimpong-Boateng expressed disappointment that ministers who were members of the IMCIM abandoned the committee. He advised politicians like Oppong Nkrumah to pursue their presidential ambitions on merit and not attempt to destroy hardworking patriots like himself. As of now, Oppong Nkrumah has not responded to these allegations.
