In a tragic incident in Pantang, a 23-year-old guy lost his life after a confrontation with the river god. The young man, riding his motorcycle, met with a fatal fate when he refused to blow his horn while crossing the bridge. Local residents had emphasized the importance of honking while crossing the river, as the river god was known to be strict and unforgiving towards those who disregarded this customary rule.

According to eyewitnesses in the area, the river god's rage was sparked when the deceased's children were playing on the bridge that fateful night, endangering their lives. In an interview with Kofi Adoma, the mother of the deceased sorrowfully revealed that her son became a victim of the river god's wrath as he attempted to protect his children from harm.

The tragic incident unfolded as the river god, taking the form of a cow, forcefully pushed the young man into the river, resulting in his untimely demise by drowning. It is important to note that this unfortunate event was not the first time the deceased had ignored the rule of blowing the horn while crossing the bridge. He had already incurred the displeasure of the river god due to his previous non-compliance.

This incident serves as a somber reminder of the significance of respecting local customs and traditions. It highlights the need for individuals to adhere to established rules, especially when it comes to matters deeply ingrained in local beliefs. As the community mourns the loss of the young man, it is hoped that this tragedy will prompt increased awareness and adherence to the customs associated with crossing the bridge, thereby preventing such unfortunate incidents in the future.
